Zyte Magazine was my final year dissertation project. As part of this, I turned the finished pieces of writing into a magazine.
The theme of the magazine issue is "Material Girl, Material World". In the dissertation, my main focus is fashion and its powerful ability to communicate.
The magazine has three core articles – Political Fashion Communication, Reclaiming Femininity & Signalling Queerness. Each of these link together to create a wider narrative.
The dissertation process involved intense first and second hand research over many months. I really enjoyed this research process, as I got to hear so many different people's viewpoints and experiences - in the end I felt that I really understood what I was writing about, even If i couldn't personally relate to or understand all of it.
