Sprout was a research, making and designing project in response to one of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) Live competition briefs.
The project explores the connection between child and caregiver in the kitchen by empowering people to cook their own meals.

a pepper grinder mechanism inside allows the device to be twisted, at the end of a cooking experience, children are encouraged to put their 'love and knowledge' into the dish by ceremoniously grinding the device. this was inspired by a childhood memory of putting 'love juice' in food when cooking with my mum.

the heart core lights up to prompt users when cooking

providing a lively companion for children, sprout delivers simple instructions which aid caregivers in the process.
tactile elements on the device establish its presence while aiding in improving the motor skills of the child
